Backpack Out

Backpack and I

Pulling my backpack off the shelf is an incredibly satisfying action. It means we’re off.

Reports on Myanmar to come! They may not come until next year, upon my return (because I’m not inclined to wrangle internet cafe computers for photo posting during valuable exploration time), but they will surely come. Stay tuned.

Hi Leah, I love your blog and wish you safe travels to Myanmar! After discovering you through a comment you made on Soulshine’s blog and cyberstalking you, I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award! It’s not mandatory, but its an extremely fun way to meet new travel bloggers :) https://wanderwithkim.wordpress.com/2015/12/26/the-liebster-award/

Hey, thanks so much – I appreciate that! I’ve already accepted the award now, so I’ll refrain from doing yet another post, but I will hop over and answer your questions in a bit as a halfway acceptance. :)

Not sure if it’s too late to help, but understand that Myanmar’s got a fairly decent mobile internet (3G) setup now. I’m going to be arriving there in a few days (early January), and am planning to get a SIM for my unlocked smartphone at the border; speeds are supposed to be nothing special, but fine for web browsing / blog updates. Good luck, in any case – maybe see you on the road…

Thanks, Tim! Much of the fault is my own for not having more technology – my smartphone is not unlocked and I have no wifi capabilities on my camera so I can’t transfer photos online without a computer. But no matter, I didn’t mind! Had a great time; hope you are, too.

No worries; technology detox is not bad from time to time… I’ve just biked into Yangon – been in country for six days. Seems lovely so far :)

Love your posts. Crossed into Myanmar on 27Dec 2015 from Zokawthar in India and visited Rih Dil lake. Loved it and I’ve posted about it on my blog. Safe travels.
